Lewistown offers a soccer league for school-age children. Every fall a league is offered for younger children while the high schoolers are able to test their skill every spring.


Rodeo fans are able to enjoy several rodeos during the summer months in Central Montana. Rodeo enthusiasts can flock to the annual Roy rodeo or the PRCA C.M. Russell Stampede in Stanford. The last weekend in July brings the Central Montana Fair and Rodeo to Lewistown, and August brings in high school rodeo participants from all across the state.

Flag Football

This is available to boys and girls in both the fifth and sixth grades. Teams compete in games once a week and develop some of the skills to move on and play regular football in the future.


Fergus High and the Lewistown Junior High offer wrestling to their students. Lewistown also has two wrestling clubs that are open to all students.


Lewistown has a number of tennis courts at Symmes Park and Fergus High School.


Snowy Lanes, located at 134 Wunderlin on the west edge of Lewistown, has 12 lanes with computerized scorekeeping. The facility is air-conditioned in the summer and maintains a full schedule of league and open bowling.


Volleyball has become a very dominant sport within the Fergus High School. In addition, club volleyball has become the summer practice league for many of the high schoolers. Adults can join in the fun of volleyball by playing in the women’s or co’ed city leagues.


Besides area high school teams, Central Montana offers several other options to play and watch basketball. The Civic Center hosts a 4-on-4 league, noon-recreational basketball, open gyms and tournaments for all ages throughout the year. Lewistown has baseball programs for all ages. Teams play at parks throughout the city. High school level baseball is available as part of American Legion Baseball through the Lewistown Redbirds. They play their games on the north end of Symmes park. Other leagues available in Lewistown include Tee-Ball, Pee Wee, Minors, Majors and Babe Ruth.
