Lewistown Public Schools

From the excellent prenatal and obstetric care offered at Central Montana Medical Center to the strength of our local school system, Lewistown is a community where childhood is highly valued. It’s a great place for children and families!

Those in need of childcare need only look as far as the local HRDC office for information and referrals to the wide variety of child care facilities in this area. An assortment of preschool programs is available, as well, providing a great start for a young child’s development and education.

Once children hit school age, a well-rounded curriculum combined with an abundance of extracurricular offerings, provides a wealth of opportunities for youngsters as they make their first steps into the world.

In standardized achievement tests, our students consistently perform well above state and national levels. The high school science bowl team has placed in the top 20 in the nation for several years running, even though its competitors are often students whose primary educational focus has been science and math.

Many take advantage of the variety of activities offered emphasizing music and the other fine arts, as well as vocational programs such as FFA, FCCLA and others. And it isn’t unusual to see local athletes competing in state tournaments.

Lewistown boasts an excellent teaching staff consisting of more than 100 teachers, approximately two-thirds of whom have attained master’s degrees in their field. The community plays a significant role in the success of the school, as well, through its generous support.

All in all, Lewistown is fertile ground for students of all ages anxious to explore the world and develop their talents and skills.
