Montana Weekly Auction Summary

Receipts:  2,624    Last Week:  2,405    Year Ago:  2,310
 
   Compared to last week:  Feeder steers and heifers sold steady to 2.00 
higher.  Feeding cows sold mostly steady to firm.  Slaughter cows sold unevenly 
steady.  Slaughter bulls sold steady to 2.00 lower.  Demand good for feeder 
cattle; moderate to good for all other classes.  Approximately, 66 percent 
feeder cattle; 21 percent slaughter cows and bulls with the balance feeding 
cows and misc. cattle.  In the feeder supply, steers made up 30 percent and 70 
percent heifers with 79 percent over 600 lbs.
