ShakeSpeare in the park

ShakeSpeare in the park

The grassy lawn speckled with fir trees at the Fergus County Fairgrounds is the perfect stage for experiencing one of Shakespeare’s renowned plays. Montana Shakespeare in the Park performs in the summer breeze, as was traditional in Shakespeare’s time.

Montana Shakespeare in the Parks has been playing summers all over Montana, Wyoming and southern Idaho since 1973. SIS has grown from a two-actor tour that performed scenes from Shakespeare’s plays to a seven-member professional company offering a full Shakespearean production complete with ornate costumes and scenery.

Bring a blanket, lawn chairs and picnic dinner, or visit the concession stand. It will be a night to remember. For additional information, call the Lewistown Art Center at 406-535-8278.
