Montanans for 4-H

Legislative Breakfast

January 20 from 6:30 AM to 7:30 AM at the Red Lion Colonial Inn, Helena

This breakfast is designed to continue our contact with, and provide information for our legislators about 4-H. This event begins the night before with a planning/rehearsal dinner at 6:00. I would love to take a group of 4-H members, who would sit with our local legislators and share their 4-H stories with them. If you are interested in attending, please contact Jennifer at the Extension Office by December 1.

State Wide Happenings!

· Greytak Calendars are here!

Once again, Don Greytak has created a beautiful calendar for 2009. They are $10 each with $2.50 going to the Montana 4-H Foundation and $2.50 going to our local Fergus/Petroleum County 4-H Leaders Council. Our supply is limited to 100, so stop in soon.

· State Leaders Forum

We had great attendance at this years forum! Cathy Griswell, Deb Kohler, Kaylene Patten, Linda White, Dave and Brenda Donaldson, Lori Murnion, Carla Glennie and Jane Todd. Thanks to all of you for attending, and for your help with the workshops!

· Member and Leaders in the Swine Projects

We are looking for a new swine superintendent for the fair.  It is very important to start recruiting a new superintendent as soon as possible so they can have input in our planning for the fair.  Please think about volunteering or start looking for someone to fill this role.

· All members and leaders with Market Livestock

We are looking for a volunteer to organize the pre-sale dinner before the market livestock sale at fair.  There are very good records as to what has been done in the past.  Please help the livestock committee in their search to fill this position.

Albertsons Community Partners

Thanks to all of you that have designated 4-H as your community partner with the Albertsons Food Stores. Last quarter our 4-H Leaders Council received $475! If you are not currently partnering with us, and would like to, please stop by the Extension Office for a card.

“Holiday Get Away” Workshop
